Full Moon Ritual: Release and Manifest

The intention of the Full Moon is "Completion of the Cycle and Release of the Old Pattern." As we draw closer to the full moon, we shift our focus to tying up our loose ends, finishing the things we have started, and letting go of the things that no longer serve us.

It is an excellent time to work on kicking bad habits to the curb, cleaning, cleansing, detoxing our homes or energy fields (Aura), and breaking off relations with those causing you harm.

Please set aside at least an hour for this ritual, as it also includes time for self-care. Remember, this is your time to take control and nurture yourself. By all means, you do not have to do the self-care portion; however, tonight is all about you. Do what makes you feel good and empowered.

*Below is a small selection of herbs and stones that may be chosen for the full moon ritual. But remember, this is your journey. Use your instinct and pick the herbs, stones, and oils that call to you. You may even use the ones that are not listed below. Your choices are respected and honored.

  1. Choose a quiet place, preferably outside under the direct moonlight.

  2. Set up your space by arranging your crystals in the above full moon mandala grid.  This grid is designed to amplify the full moon's energy and enhance your intentions. The spot in the center is reserved for the water bowl, symbolizing purification and new beginnings. Finish by scattering your herbs around and throughout the crystal grid, infusing them with their unique properties.

  3. Before starting the ritual, smudge yourself and the space you are working in to clear it of any negative energies. After removing the energies, light the Palo Santo and invite positive energies and influences into your space. These may be lost loved ones, angels, or benevolent passersby.

  4. When you are finished, take out your pen and a piece of paper. This will be the paper that you burn. You will write down your wish to release this full moon on it. This can be negative attachments, toxic relationships, bad habits, or unhealthy thought patterns. Burning this paper symbolizes the transformation and release of these negative aspects of your life. It's a powerful act of letting go and making space for new beginnings.

  5. Next, read your paper aloud, fold it three times AWAY* from your body, set it on fire, and promptly place it in your fireproof container to turn to ash. Envision what you wrote down, burning out of your life and never returning. Envision this for as long as you feel necessary.

  6. Grab your second piece of paper when you are ready to move on. This paper will be going into the bowl of water. Write down everything that you want to attract into your life with this full moon. When you have finished, read what you have written aloud, fold it TOWARDS* you, and then place it in the water. Envision all the good things you wrote down coming into your life. Do this for as long as you feel necessary.

  7. Close the ritual by offering gratitude for all the good things or people you already have. This act of gratitude is a powerful way to shift your focus to the positive aspects of your life and attract more of them. Sit on your gratitude for as long as you'd like, then conclude by cleaning up. This final step is essential to seal the energy of the ritual and prepare for the next phase of the moon cycle.

  8. Take your ashes off the property, preferably to a crossroads if you can. Crossroads symbolize choices and new directions, making them an ideal place to release the energy of what you've let go. For your water note, bury it on your property. This symbolizes the grounding of your intentions and the potential for growth and manifestation in your life.

*Caution: Safety is our priority. DO NOT, under any circumstances, leave a flame unattended. Do not let your candles burn out if you will not be there to watch them. We want you to feel secure and confident during your ritual.

Note about Charging Crystals:

If you are charging any crystals, make sure they are in a safe spot "out "of the eyes of potential thieves (this includes our furry friends!) Do not leave your selenite or any other soft crystal out overnight. The dew will cause your crystal to become smaller. A good rule of thumb is that if it ends in "ite," it will dissolve in liquid.

Note about folding the paper:

Fold AWAY from the body when you want to remove things from your life or person.

Fold TOWARDS the body when you want to invite things into your life or person.
